How the site came to be

Why

We wanted to create a site where we could share what we have learnt over the years from housing a senior cat. We decided to write short articles to create awareness on what can be involved as your senior cat gets older.

We saw many changes with Colin over the years and had to adapt to suit his needs. Changes can include diet, daily routines and making home adjustments.

It will be a learning curve so just do what you can. Every cat has its own personality and only you know your cat. The main thing is to make your cat as comfortable as possible in their senior years.

Colin

Colin was found with his brother Harry on a work site in Birmingham UK 2003, and were both brought home to a loving family. Unfortunately after seventeen amazing years Harry sadly passed due to old age. Due to their owner's age, they had to move to an apartment where pets were not allowed. The owner's daughter contacted my partner (long time best friends) and asked if we could home Colin. We could not say no as we feared he would not be adopted due to his age. My partner brought him home on July 2021 where he has been loved ever since.

Sadly Colin was put to sleep on December 3rd 2024. He was 21 years old.
